What is your purpose on SCV’s Staff?nicole cochran
My purpose on SCV’s staff is to enrich the lives of the children who come here. I try to do this by not only surrounding them with an amazing team of volunteers who are eager to share their faith, but I also want to empower the kids to develop who they are within the church and the community.

Tell us a little bit about yourself…
I am a mother of five and military spouse. My educational background is in Workforce Education and Development, but I am a life long learner who is currently working on an MBA as well. I have lived in many places, but my favorites have been Albuquerque, NM, and Sahuarita, AZ. You could say I am a big fan of dry heat.

What do you do for fun/hobbies?
For fun I love to bake and decorate cakes. I also have a passion for running and belong to two organizations, the Southern Arizona Roadrunners (SAR) and a veteran’s outreach program called Team RWB. For a little extra stress relief, I love kickboxing. My family and I also enjoy walks around the lake, trips to the park and family pizza and movie night every Friday.

What is your favorite kind of music?
I enjoy almost all types of music, but count me out if country music is on. Mary J Blige, Green Day, Taj Mahal, Casting Crowns, Pearl Jam, and Meiko make up an interesting mix on my iPod.

What are your favorite books/authors?
My favorite type of book is historical fiction. Authors I like include: Ken Follett, Philippa Gregory, Sophie Kinsella, and Christopher Moore. Right now I am working on a list of top twenty books of the last five years, so maybe someone new will be added to the list. My all time favorite book was one I read in grade school called Naya Nuki by Kenneth Thomasama. The most inspiring book I have read as an adult is The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch.

What do you get at Starbucks?
At Starbucks I can always go for a Chai Latte or White Chocolate Mocha, but really, the Vanilla Chai at Dunkin Donuts has my heart!
